The first day of spring has come and gone, but Jack Frost just can’t seem to leave Calgary alone.
While it may seem to be an unseasonably snowy start to spring this year, Calgarians are more than used to snow on the ground well into April, or even May.
At the same time, the sheer quantity of the white stuff has gotten a little out of hand over the past few weeks. YYC Weather Records has put this March as the snowiest since 2009, with a total of 41.9 cm falling over the month.
Calgarians are not impressed.
#Calgary just had its snowiest March since 2009. Total snow was 41.9cm. #YycWx

Many have voiced their displeasure towards Mother Nature by taking to Twitter, and a few of the disgruntled observations are more than relatable:
spring in calgary means it will snow for the next week, hopefully by june the ground thaws before the floods start

Dear Mother Nature: I know you like to snow every weekend but I’m getting cabin fever & would like to get out of town. If you could stop by Apr 21st for Ellen in Calgary, that’d be great.

Up to 17-20 cm more snow in the next week and a half???
Highs in the negatives???
This is, by FAR the worst winter I remember in #Calgary.
We either get the snow and a few cold snaps, or the cold and moderate snow.
TOGETHER??? You suck nature.— Aimless Gulutzan (@NapsAndSarcasm) March 31, 2018
There’s so much snow in #Calgary this year like it’s insane. Seriously #yyc #abstorm

What’s worse is that the snow is expected to continue throughout the week, hitting hardest Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday nights.

The good news is that there are only 80 days left until summer. Yay.
