The cozy little waffle shop is known for its sweet and savoury waffles, waffle ice cream cakes, and community events like movie and game nights.

Owners shared a message of thanks to customers who have supported the eatery along the way and explained the decision to close.

Buttermilk will be closing its 17th Ave location on January 1st, 2019. We can’t believe this day has come, and it comes with heavy hearts. It’s been a journey, to say the least! From opening summer highs, to economic slump lows, from Food Network features, to endless construction zone blunders. We pushed it as far and as hard as we could, but it’s time for a change. We are so proud of the community we have built, and so grateful for our wonderful customers and our talented and invested staff for supporting us through thick and thin. It truly takes a village.

But don’t go crying in your beer! You still have five days to come eat all your favourites. And all the greatest hits are on the menu until Sunday, so please don’t be strangers! Let’s celebrate, and to hell with the economy!

Well, happy waffling, ol’ friends. Thanks for helping us create our dream. Until we meet again 😉! Any questions can be emailed to [email protected].
