Toronto Blue Jays to hold autograph signing session in Calgary

The “boys of summer” are making Calgary’s cold, unforgiving winter a little more bearable.

The Toronto Blue Jays announced they’re hitting the road this coming January and will be in Calgary for a two-day event ahead of the team’s 2020 season. Fans can meet Cavan Biggio, Rowdy Tellez, Trent Thornton, and Danny Jansen during the Blue Jays’ Winter Tour.

Yes, even Ace the Blue Jays mascot is coming along for the ride.

The Jays will make the rounds in Calgary during some private events, local visits, and autograph sessions. Blue Jays fans can meet the team’s young stars during an autograph session at Stampede Park, January 10 from 6:30 pm to 8 pm.

Typically, thousands would be on hand for an autograph session of this magnitude, which is why this will be a ticketed event. Tickets go on sale for the autograph session December 3 at 10 am, but it’s a lottery system, so you have to be successful to purchase tickets.

Besides the autograph session, Biggio, Tellez, Thornton, Jansen, and company will host an amateur baseball camp for youth in Calgary on January 11. This will also be a lottery ticketed event, which also opens up December 3 at 10 am.

Lastly, four local classes get the chance to hang out with the Blue Jays as they’re hosting a “Ultimate Field Trip” contest. Classes will join the Jays at WinSport Canada Olympic Park for a day full of activities alongside the Blue Jays.

And the team will wrap up their two-day stay in Calgary with an appearance — where else — at the Calgary Flames game on January 11.

With Opening Day less than five months away, the Blue Jays Winter Tour will surely help tie over baseball-starved fans in Calgary. Fans looking for more info on the Blue Jays Winter Tour in Calgary can check out the Blue Jays website.
