As the holiday festivities have come to an end, you’re probably feeling that your stretchy pants don’t feel as stretchy from eating a few too many sugar cookies. Now it’s that time of year- time to get your greens.

Here are eight of the best salads in Calgary that will encourage you not to sabotage your New Year’s resolutions.

Farro Salad from Dirtbelly

The Altadore from Village Flatbread Co.

Named after the SW neighbourhood, this kale salad hoists up carrot ribbons, sunflower seeds, and a heap of chickpeas that is topped with a zesty cumin lime dressing and peppered with sweet dried cranberries. Add goat feta to amp it up with creaminess.

Holy Macro from The Coup

This mile-high salad could convert any non-salad eater. The bed of camelina oil massaged kale and shredded purple cabbage is tossed in a carrot-turmeric dressing and topped with avocado, pickled winter radish, shredded carrot, lentils, and puffed wild rice. After all of that it is generously garnished with hemp hearts, toasted and seasoned squash seeds, macadamia parmesan, crispy-fried shallots, roasted portobello mushroom and with dulse seaweed flakes sprinkled on top.
