All of the best places in Calgary to trick-or-treat in on Halloween

If you are on the hunt for some places in Calgary where you can expect plenty of kids heading out to trick-or-treat this Halloween, an interactive map can help you make a plan.
A map created by the team at Census Mapper captured the trick-or-treat density in Calgary,Ā based on the Canadian census from 2021.
This is the third iteration of this map, starting with 2011 data, then updated with 2016 data and now with the fresh 2021 census data.
It works by mapping out how many children of trick-or-treat age (ages three through 14) live in your area per square kilometre, and the darker the colour, the more foot traffic is expected.
Looking at the map, neighbourhoods in the far north, like Panorama Hills and Coventry Hills, the northeast, like Pine Ridge, Falconridge, Martindale, Taradale, and Temple, and scattered throughout southern sections of the city, like Bridlewood, Evergreen, Auburn Bay, and New Brighton.

Some inner-city Calgary neighbourhoods also registered the chance of heavy foot traffic for Halloween, like Hillhurst, West Hillhurst, Connaught, Garrison Woods, and Altadore.
With a fresh census on the way in 2026, fingers crossed, a new version of this map will be made for Halloween next year. You can view the trick-or-treat density map online.
