For those of you looking to spend a bit of quality time with your family and wondering what you can get up to during the 10 days of Stampede, here’s a list of the best activities:

TransAlta Grandstand Show

No matter the age, the Grandstand show is definitely a must see event during Stampede! Every night this captivating show features the talented students of The Young Canadians School of the Performing Arts. The captivating choreography, singing, and brilliant firework finale will surely leave you and your family in awe. The show will also showcase new numbers performed by the Alberta Ballet.

Be sure to get your tickets early so you don’t miss out on this memorable event that happens each night.

Scotiabank Saddledome/Grandstand

The Cowboy Up Challenge is definitely a show that will entertain any age group, as it all goes down at the Saddledome. It features the skills of both horse and rider as they maneuver through a series of obstacles demonstrating both their horsemanship skills and speed. Who can forget about the Rodeo and Chuckwagon races featured at the Grandstand. The thrill and adrenaline will leave the whole family on the edge of their seats crossing their fingers for each contestant.

The Great Funtier

For those of you with kids who can’t get enough of amusement park rides, take them to The Great Fun-tier where they can take a spin on the “Monster Trucks,” “Kite Flyer,” and “Lollipop Swing.” This area of the Stampede grounds will surely keep them thrilled, but don’t forget to check out the main Midway for fun treats and games.

Agriculture Building/Agrium Western Event Centre

Almost all day, everyday there will be fantastic showcases of adorable animals and fun interactive activities that will keep every child and adult entertained. Make sure to check out the Agrium Barn Tours, the Country Critters, the Blacksmith showcase, and so much more.

BMO Kids’ Zone

This area of the Stampede grounds is the perfect place to take your kids to meet some of their favourite characters and heroes. There will be meet and greet times for Spider-Man, Iron Man, Dora and Boots, Spongebob, and more.

Saddledome Steps

If you find yourself near the steps of the Saddledome, make sure to stop by to check out the fantastic musical talent displayed by our World-Champion Stampede Showband.

In addition to this, there is a Band of Outriders who are sure to put on an upbeat performance, and not to mention the visiting bands who will bring their own unique sound to entertain the crowd. And who can forget the Ghost Riders, Canada’s best Hip Dancers, who will be putting on high-energy performances outside the Saddledome.
