Ben & Jerry’s launched a line of vegan ice creams this week. Sadly, they’re not available in Canada.
The Vermont-based maker of indulgent and whimsically-named ice creams and frozen yogurts felt it was time to let those who kept dairy out of their diets in on the ice cream fun. Their Certified Vegan line of pints come with “all the chunks and swirls Ben & Jerry’s is known for,” except with an almond milk base, says the company.
Their non-dairy flavours are:
- P.B. & Cookies, Vanilla with Chocolate Sandwich Cookies & Crunchy Peanut Butter Swirls
- Coffee Caramel Fudge, Coffee with Fudge Chunks & Caramel Swirls
- Chocolate Fudge Brownie, Chocolate with Fudge Brownies from Greyston Bakery
- Chunky Monkey, Banana with Fudge Chunks & Walnuts
The four new vegan flavours will be for sale…in the U.S. only…as pints, and the P.B. & Cookies up for scoops in their stores. Expect B&J’s to roll out more flavours in the non-dairy line, too.

We reached out Thursday to Ben & Jerry’s media rep, who confirmed via email that the flavours were not released in Canada, but we were left with this tidbit of hope: “[Y]ou never know what the future may hold!”
That’s somewhat better news for vegan ice cream lovers who happen to be Canadian. In the meantime, hit up your fave local indie non-dairy ice cream shop, or plan a trip across the border.
