A brand-new music festival in Banff has been called off ahead of its planned debut next month.
The Aroabora Mountain Music Festival was set to take place in Banff this March, bringing an electronic music experience right to the Rocky Mountains.
The event has since been called off, due to circumstances outside of the organizer’s control. “The Aroabora Music Festival will not proceed this year,” the festival announced on its website.
The festival was set to feature two days of live music, food trucks, arts installations, and more at the Historic Train Station and celebrate alpine culture and Boreal Techno.
A stellar lineup of artists had been scheduled for the inaugural festival, including A-Trak, Simon Doty, and CRi on Friday.

Guests on Saturday were set to dance beneath the northern sky to huge acts like Parra for Cuva, MC4D, and bradeazy.
There was also a free Community Session planned, open to all ages and all members of the Banff community.
The daytime gathering was going to feature art installations, local food trucks, and music in the mountain air for locals to gather and play.
If you’ve already bought tickets for the event, full refunds will be available. “For those who have already purchased tickets to the event, more information will be emailed to you shortly, and the festival will be refunding your ticket purchase in full.”
“We know many were looking forward to the festival, and appreciate all the support and excitement surrounding the event. We will continue exploring opportunities to bring the festival to life in the future.”
