Iconic Chinese burger restaurant in Calgary has officially closed its doors

Another iconic Chinatown spot has closed its doors in Calgary.

Auntie’s Chinese Burger, a spot known for its unique menu of Chinese street food, is no more, with the spot now listed as “permanently closed” on Google.

Its storefront, located at the basement level of Chinatown’s Opulence Centre, also displays “For Lease” signs.

The spot was known for its dishes such as the Jian Bing (Chinese crepes), cold noodles, and, of course, Chinese-style burgers, known as Roujiamo.

The closure marks another huge loss for the neighbourhood, which earlier this year said goodbye to Something More, a legendary BBQ spot that had been a fixture on the scene for three decades.

We don’t know yet what’s next for the space, but we’ll be keeping an eye out.
