Feb 5 2026, 5:05 pm

ATCO Energy has been a trusted energy provider in Alberta for years, offering a range of services that give customers choice and control over their home energy needs. But you might not know that the company also has a long‑standing commitment to giving back —one that is now reaching new heights through an enhanced partnership.

In late January, ATCO Energy announced the expansion of its partnership with Habitat for Humanity Southern Alberta, becoming the organization’s Official Energy and Home Services Supplier.

“ATCO Energy has shown up for Habitat in meaningful, practical ways since becoming a partner in 2022,” said Gerrad Oishi, President and CEO for Habitat for Humanity Southern Alberta.”

Here are all the details about this new chapter for ATCO Energy and Habitat for Humanity.

ATCO Energy will now provide provide in-kind energy for Habitat’s ReStore and home services — like maintenance and care — to help Habitat homes stay efficient, sustainable, and move-in ready.

That’s just one way ATCO Energy is supporting Habitat’s mission to strengthen affordable housing in southern Alberta. The two partners will also collaborate on housing refurbishments, helping Habitat upgrade and resell repurchased homes.

In addition to its annual fundraisers and campaigns, ATCO Energy is committing a minimum $50,000 investment to further support affordable housing. This is a major boost for Habitat’s initiatives, from ReStore operations to home construction.

The impact is already visible! As part of this commitment, ATCO Energy is an Industry Build Sponsor for Habitat’s new 24-home project in Chestermere and will take part in two volunteer build days.

Proven dedication for the future

Since 2022, ATCO Energy has provided almost $200,000 in financial support for Habitat for Humanity. Beyond this, ATCO Energy employees have also rolled up their sleeves, contributing more than 870 volunteer hours to support Habitat projects.

This type of dedication matters in advancing safe and affordable homeownership for Alberta families. As Lindsey Hagen, Director of ATCO Energy’s Marketing & Customer Engagement, says: “We’re proud to grow our partnership in a way that delivers real, measurable impact for families across the region.”

It’s no surprise that supporting long-term sustainability directly improves housing for families in need. Learn more by visiting the ATCO Energy website to explore its services and its community commitments
