A long-standing comic book store in Calgary has announced it will be closing up shop come the end of April.

Another Dimension Comics announced on its Facebook page on Friday that after 42 years in business, the owners have made the “difficult decision” to close its doors.

The store, located at 424 B 10 St N.W. in the Kensington neighbourhood, says it will continue to get new comics through the end of March and will remain open until April 26.

After the store is closed, its website will continue to operate, as it adds “numerous back issues and other surprises over the next few months.”

The post added that if a shopper is a current subscriber, files will need to be cleared out by April 15.

“A big thank you to all the people who have supported us through this long journey. It has been a pleasure to serve the Calgary community for the last four decades but the time has come to turn the page and begin a new chapter,” the store added.
