Alberta announces when COVID-19 vaccines will be available for seniors

Feb 20 2021, 12:53 am

All seniors over 75 in Alberta will be eligible to book a COVID-19 vaccination appointment starting February 24.

Alberta made the announcement in a news release Friday afternoon, adding appointment availability will be limited based on vaccine supply.

“This is an exciting day for these Albertans, and the thousands of family members and friends who love them,” Premier Jason Kenney said. “We are starting with those most at risk and moving quickly to provide the protection that they deserve.”

The immunization offer is open to any Albertan who was born in 1946 or earlier. They’ll be able to schedule an appointment through Alberta Health Services either online or using the telephone.

More details about how to book will be released on February 24, and online booking links will be added to the government’s vaccine information page.
