Why this rural Alberta town is about to double in size for just one day
A massive community-wide garage sale with more than 200 vendors is about to take place in a rural Alberta town, and it’s the perfect place to size up some unique finds for your home.
The Gibbons Town Wide Garage Sale runs all day this Saturday, Sept. 6, in the town about 37 kilometres northeast of Edmonton.
The annual event is among the largest of its kind in Alberta, with the community’s population of just over 3,200 nearly doubling during the single-day sale.
In addition to the hundreds of vendors lining the streets, food trucks will also be available for visitors looking to refuel after a long day of bargain-hunting.
Vendors can be found along 50th and 51st Street, on nearby side streets and at the Gibbons Museum.
