
Alberta just revealed the top baby names in the province for 2025, and two names are still topping the charts after years in the lead.
The results are according to the Service Alberta and Red Tape Reduction department, and the list of the most popular girls and boys names is compiled from the birth information provided by parents and registered by the department for a particular year.
Noah came in as the top baby boy name for the seventh year in a row, while Olivia took the top spot for baby girls for the 13th consecutive year.
Amelia, Emma, Sophia, and Charlotte were among the top five most popular girl names for 2025, while Theodore, Oliver, Henry, and Jack completed the top five boy names.

The report noted that some parents are leaning into Alberta’s film and television industry,Ā taking inspiration from some pop culture and characters with names like Khaleesi, Zendaya and Beckham.
Celebrities weren’t the only names trending this year, with the report noting that “Some parents were inspired by Greek mythology with names like Artemis and Zephyr, while others looked to Mother Nature, choosing names such as Azalea, Magnolia, and Sparrow.”
“Adding to the new arrivals are names that express joy and optimism like Faith, Joy and Treasure, while others took a focus to Albertaās heritage with names like Jasper, and Rose, the provinceās official floral emblem.”
More than 52,000 births were registered in 2025. Parents have up to one year to register a childās birth, meaning the final numbers for 2025 may change slightly as late registrations are processed.
