Bundle up and keep those shovels nearby because snow is on the way for a large chunk of Alberta, and up to 25 centimetres may fall.
The Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) significant weather outlook for the Prairies is forecasting a band of snow to bring 10 to 20 centimetres of snow from Edson down to Banff, right across to the very eastern portions of the province in Llyodminster tomorrow.
An area to the northeast of Edmonton is also seeing a chance of even heavier snow, with an accumulation of 15 to 25 centimetres possible.

ECCC issued snowfall warnings for a wide swath of the province Wednesday morning, including for Edmonton, Sherwood Park, St. Albert, Spruce Grove, Stony Plain, Drayton Valley, Banff, and many other areas.
“Snowfall is expected to become heavy at times starting early Thursday morning. Before the snow ends Thursday evening, 10 to 20 cm of snow is expected. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow,” the warning stated.
“There may be a significant impact on rush hour traffic in urban areas. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions.”
Calgary is looking to escape the threat of heavy snow, with ECCC saying snow is forecast to begin around noon tomorrow and amounting to 2 cm.
Parts of southern Alberta, including Medicine Hat and Lethbridge, are also under the gun for wind gusts of up to 70 km/h, while a tiny portion of extreme northeastern Alberta is at risk of enduring wind chill values of -40°C.
