If you have Thanksgiving long weekend travel plans in Alberta, you may save some coin because one gas price analyst service is predicting prices to drop soon.

Gas Wizard predicts prices will see a hefty drop by approximately seven cents per litre, hitting $1.179 in Calgary and $1.159 in Edmonton on Saturday, Oct. 11.

The price of premium fuel is also set to decrease by a whopping 10 cents per litre in Edmonton and nine cents per litre in Calgary, while diesel prices are forecast to bump up by two cents per litre in Edmonton.

Despite the price at the pump sometimes feeling like it’s always burning a hole in our pockets, Alberta still has some of the lowest gas prices in Canada, with the highest prices currently in Vancouver at $1.68 and Victoria at $1.63.

The Canadian average also currently sits at $1.403 per litre, so it could be worse, we guess?

So, text your friends and call your parents to warn them to try and hold out on filling up until tomorrow. We have to save as much coin as we can, wherever we can!

If you have travel plans over the long weekend, keep in mind that some spots in Alberta may be treated to some flurries.
