If your vehicle is running on fumes in Alberta, today would be a good day to stop at certain gas stations and save some money on fuel while you’re at it.
The price at the pumps may be eating a hole in your wallet, but drivers got a bit of a break when the federal government announced in September an extension of its fuel excise tax relief until Jan. 31, 2027. This knocks off 10 cents per litre on gas and four cents per litre on diesel.
The Province also stepped in last month to extend the pause on the Alberta fuel tax, allowing Albertans to pay 13 cents less per litre at the pump for the rest of 2026.
If you’re looking to save even more during your next fill-up, drivers can head to participating Alberta Circle K gas stations on Thursday, Oct. 15 to save 10 cents per litre.
The company, which operates more than 2,000 locations across the country, says the offer is part of National Fuel Day and is valid for just four hours, between 3 and 7 p.m. local time.
“Our goal is to make life on the road just a little easier, because we know that every trip adds up,” says Stéphane Trudel, senior vice-president of operations at Alimentation Couche-Tard.
If you have the Circle K app downloaded with account registration too, Albertans will have double the chance to score on cheaper fuel. Drivers can get a 10-cent-per-litre “early access” discount from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. local time on Oct. 15, according to the company’s press release.
The early access offer is limited to one offer redemption per Circle K app account, while supplies last. Fuel prices may vary from one location to another. It cannot be combined with other offers or promotions, including the Fuel Day offer. The discount is limited to a maximum of 100 litres per vehicle.
