FlixBus is expanding its Prairie network this spring with a new route system that will make travelling between Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba more connected than ever.

The intercity bus operator announced that it will be expanding its Western Canada service, which will start on May 7, 2026, by adding new routes and extending existing ones.

The expanded service includes four new communities added to the network. Travellers will now be able to reach Winnipeg, Brandon, Swift Current, and Moose Jaw.

Beginning on May 7, FlixBus will use Regina as a central transfer hub to connect eastbound and westbound routes, linking Alberta with new and expanded travel options. They plan to use three interconnected lines:

  • Edmonton – Saskatoon – Regina (existing service)
  • Calgary – Lethbridge – Medicine Hat – Swift Current – Moose Jaw – Regina (expanded service)
  • Regina – Brandon – Winnipeg (new service)

“Expanding our service across the Prairies gives more people access to convenient and budget-friendly travel options, making it easier than ever to visit family and friends, get to work or school, or take a vacation without the need to fly or drive,” said Karina Frayter, head of communications at Flix North America, in a release.

If you are planning to travel across the Prairies, the bus ride comes with some pretty great amenities, such as free Wi-Fi, power outlets at every seat, spacious seating, and real-time trip tracking.

Tickets for the new and expanded Prairie routes are on sale now through FlixBus’ website and mobile app.

Flix North America Inc., the parent company of FlixBus Inc. and Greyhound Lines, Inc., provides the largest intercity bus transportation and booking platform for North America.

It’s a subsidiary of Germany-based mobility company Flix SE, Flix North America Inc., and provides services in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, with almost 2,300 destinations across its network.
