Leonardo DiCaprio has a new film called The Revenant that is set to come out on Christmas day, and it looks bad ass.
The Revenant is directed by Alejandro González Iñárritu who brought us last year’s Oscar darling Birdman: Or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance).
The Revenant was also shot just outside of Calgary and through other parts of Alberta and British Columbia.
The premise of the film is as follows: Inspired by true events, The Revenant captures one man’s epic adventure of survival and the extraordinary power of the human spirit. In an expedition of the uncharted American wilderness, legendary explorer Hugh Glass (Leonardo DiCaprio) is brutally attacked by a bear and left for dead by members of his own hunting team. In a quest to survive, Glass endures unimaginable grief as well as the betrayal of his confidant John Fitzgerald (Tom Hardy). Guided by sheer will and the love of his family, Glass must navigate a vicious winter in a relentless pursuit to live and find redemption – Written by 20th Century Fox
We finally have a trailer and it looks epic. The Revenant will be up against Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens on December 25th.
