Health officials report 872 COVID-19 cases in Alberta on Tuesday
Health officials have announced 872 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, December 29.
In an update on social media, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Deena Hinshaw explained that there were 11,006 tests completed on December 28, bringing the total number of tests to date to 2,765,925 in the province.

Hinshaw also announced an additional 26 deaths. There are also currently 890 people in the hospital, 153 of whom are in ICU.
“Please continue to limit in-person interactions as much as possible,” she tweeted. “The decisions we make now will affect our case rates and hospitalizations into mid-January.”

There are currently 14,785 active cases in the province.
