Alberta health officials have confirmed seven new coronavirus cases.

Since the start of the pandemic, Alberta has seen 7,098 coronavirus cases. The majority have been found in the Calgary zone.

As of Friday afternoon, Alberta’s coronavirus death toll was at 146.

Alberta has also reported more recoveries. There are now 6,624 people in the province who have cleared their coronavirus infection.

Last week, Alberta made coronavirus testing available to everyone in the province whether or not they have symptoms.

The province hopes expanded testing will allow health officials to further understand the virus’ impacts, which will inform reopening decisions.
