Banff Mountain Film and Book Festival

  • What: The 40th anniversary of the Banff Mountain Film and Book Festival plays host to a wonderful variety of events like The Snow Show, Hot Topics Seminars and more.
  • Where: The Banff Centre -107 Tunnel Mountain Drive, Banff

Once

  • What: Performed by Broadway Across Canada, Once is a story of a Dublin street musician who is about to give up on his dream when a woman takes interest in his haunting love songs.

Dinner in the Dark

  • What: Join Light Up The World (LUTW) at Dinner in the Dark to support families living without electricity.

Calgary Flames vs the Philadelphia Flyers

Skate Canada: Alberta-NWT/Nunavut Sectional Championship

  • What: Over 300 skaters from across Alberta and the Northwest Territories will be competing in the 2016 Skate Canada: Alberta – NWT/Nunavut Sectional Championships presented by the Alberta Figure Skating Foundation.

Read for the Cure

  • What: Annually this event hosts a series of Author Events and each year three authors who speak about their work rather than reading. This year Camilla Gibb (this is happy), Colleen Jones (Throwing Rocks at Houses) and Nino Ricci (Sleep) will be featured in Calgary.

Greek Annual Bazzar

  • What: The Greek Ladies of Philoptochos, a non-profit charitable organization dedicated to helping those in need in the community, will once again host their Annual Greek Bazaar.
  • When: Friday, November 6, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturday, November 7, 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.

22nd Charity Wine Auction – the Moulin Rouge Gala

  • What: Featuring fabulous foods and wines alongside dramatic décor, there will be no shortage of fun at this gala. Proceeds made from the gala go towards local Alberta charities.

Russell Peters Almost Famous World Tour

  • What: Comedian Russell Peters will be returning to Calgary. His show will feature his latest take on some of his favorite communities, jobs he can understand, cell phones, dating and his uncle who’s never been punched in the mouth.

Fort Calgary artisan Fair 

  • What: Every year just before the holiday season fully takes hold, Fort Calgary hosts a fine collection of locally-made, one-of-a-kind products created by local crafters and artists, and this year is no exception.

  • When: Wednesday, November 11 from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Calgary European Film Festival

  • What: 12 European countries have joined the CEFF to bring you high quality movies from the Old Continent.

Adults Only Night: Games We Play

Dinner for Doors

ISU World Cup Speed Skating

The Group Art Society’s Fall Show and Sale

The Mousetrap

First Annual Winter Hafla

Festival of Crafts

  • What: Known as one of Canada’s largest holiday handcrafted shopping events, Festival of Crafts runs four days showcasing items from fashion to gourmet treats from over 250 talented artisans, artists and designers.
  • Where: BMO Centre at Stampede Park – 20 Roundup Way SW, Calgary
  • When: November 26 to 29; Thursday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Banff Craft Beer Festival

  • What: Alberta Beer Festivals is introducing the first ever Banff Festival at the Cave and Basin. Each ticket gives you a four ounce sample mug and grants you access to the event.

ACAD’s Show and Sale Weekend Market

  • What: This semi-annual retail event showcases student work from several ACAD programs such as painting, drawing, ceramic, fibre, printmaking, jewellery, etc. Proceeds support the students.

Annual Holiday Market and Book Sale

Market Collective: Holiday Dates

Charlie Brown’s Christmas featuring Jerry Granelli’s trio

  • What: Listen to the original score of A Charlie Brown Christmas performed by renowned drummer Jerry Granelli, the only surviving member of the Vince Guaraldi Trio who had written as well as performed A Charlie Brown Christmas’ soundtrack.
  • Where: Central United Church – 131 7 Avenue SW, Calgary

The Polar Express Train Ride

  • What: Be whisked away on the Polar Express where passengers will get to drink hot chocolate, eat treats and listen to the motion pictures sound track. Passengers on the train are encouraged to wear pyjamas.
  • Where: Aspen Crossing 1 km west of Mossleigh on Highway 24, Mossleigh
  • When: Saturday, November 28 to Thursday, December 24, on select dates.
