Yes, the Greatest Outdoor Show in the world is finally here, but for some of us, we’d rather check other events out.

So if you want to ditch the plaid and just go about life as it were a week ago, here are a few things to do today.

Free Slurpee Day

Join in on 7Eleven’s free slurpee day which takes place every year. Hit up a 7Eleven today and get a cold one on the house.

Japan Photo Contest

Get your photos featured in the 3rd annual Japan Photo Contest. The contest will feature three categories: Japan and Canada, Culture Food and Festivals of Japan and Nature & Landmarks of Japan. Contestants can submit up to three photos, maximum of one photo per category. Sign the form and forward it to [email protected].

Something Old, Something New: 125 Years of Wedding Fashion

See some of the most trendsetting and common wedding dresses in Alberta from the last 125 years. The exhibition features collections from the Museum of the Highwood, the Red Deer Museum, the Royal Alberta Museum, the Lougheed House Conservation Society, as well as numerous private collections.

Extreme Airpark

Head over to Canada’s largest indoor trampoline park. There is over 42, 000 square feet of interlocking trampolines to bounce your way through.

Broken City’s Comedy Night

Experience a long standing Calgary comedy night at Broken City. This open mic show will feature up and coming comedians as well as seasoned comedic veterans.
