CORE Shopping Centre is pulling out all the stops to start off the holiday season.
Along with the 45-foot Christmas tree they’ll be erecting, the Find Christmas Downtown event on November 23 will feature a performance by country music singer Dan Davidson, a fireworks display, and 150 other Christmas trees that will be decorated and donated to families.

“I’m super excited to kick off Christmas at the CORE in Calgary, it’s one of my favourite cities to play,” said Davidson in a release from CORE Shopping Centre.
“We’re going to be hanging out, entertaining, playing songs from the new record, Songs for Georgia, and a few Christmas tunes too.”
The jolly man himself will also be at the event, so anyone hoping to visit with Santa (without having to wait in hour-long mall lineups the week before Christmas) can do so that Thursday night.
The 150 trees being decorated will remain on display at CORE Shopping Centre until December 20, when they will be given to families who would have otherwise gone without.
