40 Calgary restaurants will be competing in a 10 day pizza battle this Friday, September 25 to Monday, October 5. If you’re a fan of pizza, you’ll want to check out these spots.
The participating restaurants will be putting their pizzas in one of four categories; thin crust, thick crust, gluten free or unique. This year there are a variety of pizzas like the thanksgiving pizza, burger pizza and sushi pizza, just to name a few.
The winners in each category are determined by the public via an online vote and will be announced at YYC Pizza Week wrap party.
For every pizza sold part of the proceeds will go to Calgary Meals On Wheels. Last year YYC Pizza Week raised over $9,000 for Meals on Wheels.

When you go to a participating restaurant you can ask for a pizza passport and mark off all of the restaurants and their pizzas that you went to eat.
YYC Pizza Week wants to encourage families and friends to have their own pizza crawl to explore different parts of the city while supporting a great cause.
