2016 Alberta Tough Mudder challenge not for the faint of heart

Jun 7 2016, 2:17 am

This year’s Tough Mudder Alberta challenge is serving up a slippery adventure, that’s not for the faint of heart.

Slated for the Drumheller backcountry, teams can expect steep climbs and descents of super-slick bentonite canyons, hoodoos, and coulees. The challenge will follow the traditional Tough Mudder structure on a 10 to 12 mile obstacle course, only this year’s event has some new things in store to test each team’s physical strength, stamina, and mental grit.

Unlike other competitive events, the 2016 Tough Mudder Alberta challenge will not include podiums, winners, or clocks to race against. It’s important for each team to remember that it’s not about how fast you can cross the finish line; just focus on teamwork, camaraderie, and pushing yourself out of your comfort zone to help complete the challenge.

Although the 2016 Tough Mudder Alberta obstacle course promises to be gruelling, it’s designed for anyone to join in. All you need to bring alongside appropriate clothes and water is a thirst for adventure.

Leading up to the event, Albertans are encouraged to chronicle their training sessions on social media using the hashtag, #itsallbeentraining. Alongside regular tickets for the Saturday and Sunday event, other options such as a VIP corporate package are also available.
