The first Starbucks Reserve Bar in Western Canada is permanently closing its doors.

The Mount Pleasant coffee house took to social media to share the news that January 31, 2021, would be its last day in business.

“Although we have a heavy heart today, the happiness and joy this store gives us will not be forgotten,” the Mount Pleasant Reserve Bar wrote on Instagram, thanking customers and employees alike for three and a half years of service.

Located on Main Street at 14th, the Reserve Bar first opened in 2017.

The first of its kind in Vancouver, the specialty store featured Starbucks’ rare small-lot Reserve coffees and unique beverages not found at other locations.

Baristas held a special Coffee Master designation and had access to Starbucks Canada’s only Black Eagle manual espresso machine.

“Thank you everyone for the on going support from the beginning of this journey,” Mount Pleasant Reserve Bar wrote. “Being connected to our community and sharing our coffee passion has always been our goal.”

“We hope you get a chance to have one last coffee with us today.”

The stores online hours note that it closes at 9 pm.
