Ontario-raised Hollywood actor Simu Liu just tied the knot with his girlfriend of four years.
Liu and fiancée Allison Hsu were married in France, where the Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings star proposed roughly a year and a half earlier.
The 37-year-old actor has dated Hsu, a 30-year-old record industry marketing director, since the pair was first linked in November 2022. The couple officially hard-launched that same month when they attended the Los Angeles premiere of Violent Night together, and have since been spotted together in locations like Muskoka.
Liu gushed about his then-girlfriend in a 2023 Instagram post, where he wrote that Hsu “teaches me how to balance a busy and chaotic schedule with grace, and touches me in how she cares for each and every person in her life. Most importantly, she shows me that the people we love are always worth fighting for.”
“I love you to pieces babe — whether we’re on another crazy trip to god-knows-where for who-knows-what, or just binging our way through Friends at home, there’s simply nothing better than holding your hand. Thanks for never giving up on me,” he wrote.

Born in China and raised in Ontario, Liu first rose to prominence through his role as Jung Kim in the CBC sitcom Kim’s Convenience, which ran from 2016 to 2021.
His Hollywood breakout came in 2021, when he was thrust into the Marvel Cinematic Universe with the lead role in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, playing the titular superhero. Liu earned another prominent role in 2023’s blockbuster hit, Barbie, where he played a rival Ken doll opposite Ryan Gosling’s lead Ken.
