Description

From October 22 - 27, Slice of Life Gallery will be hosting the first public exhibition for Women Yelling, a performance and participatory art project that aims to explore, create, and document new ways for cis, trans, and 2S women & femmes to safely practice feeling and releasing their anger. The exhibition opening will take place on Thursday 22 October from 6:00 - 10:00 PM and is open to the public (tickets are $5.00 with PWYC tickets available). Gallery open hours: 10 AM - 10 PM (October 22 - 26) and 10 AM - 8 PM (October 27).

By-donation exhibition programming includes:

  1. A workshop in which participants will talk about their relationships with anger before exploring some fun and silly forms of anger expression, culminating in a group yell (Women Yelling: A Workshop About Anger, October 23, 6:30 - 8:30 PM);
  2. Two drop-in-style sessions in which participants can explore anger-related activity stations (Break, Crush, Make I, October 24, 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM; Break, Crush, Make II, October 24, 4:00 - 5:00 PM);
  3. A zine-making workshop with local artist Addye Susnick (Using Zines to Explore & Express Anger, October 24, 1:00 - 3:00 PM); and
  4. A virtual gallery tour.
