ORIGINAL STORY:

Emergency crews are on scene battling a fire at New Westminster’s Pier Park.

Witness Utah Cowx shared footage of the blaze online. He told Daily Hive the footage was taken from his 14th-floor condo.

“Noticed the fire almost exactly one hour ago, looked fairly small and grew very quickly. People were moved off the pier about 25 minutes after it started and the entire area is engulfed,” he said.

Deputy Chief Tyler Moore with Vancouver Fire Department said his crews are on the way to assist with the dock fire.

The fire has also suspended Skytrain service between Columbia and Scott Road stations.

TransLink says the Expo Line is running between Waterfront and Production Way Station and a bus bridge is operating between Scott Road Station to Columba Station.

This is a breaking story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
