Looking to switch your credit card next year? Luckily for you, there are plenty to choose from in Canada.
Ratehub released the winners of its 2026 credit card awards in Canada on Tuesday.

Whether you’re a jet setter looking to save big on flights or you want to maximize cash back on everyday purchases, Ratehub’s list of 13 credit card award winners for 2026 is a great place to start.
The best overall rewards credit card in Canada goes to the American Express Cobalt Card, which increased its monthly fee in November. It has won in this category for the sixth consecutive year.
“The American Express Cobalt continues to be a top choice for cardholders who want a flexible rewards program that fits both everyday spending and travel,” reads the report. “While its travel and overseas spending multipliers have changed, the card still offers an excellent mix of redemption options, travel perks, and comprehensive insurance coverage.”

The credit card boasts a generous welcome bonus and allows users to earn five times the points on eligible restaurants and groceries, and two times the points on ride shares, transit and gas.
Amex Cobalt also won the People’s Choice credit card in Canada.
If you’re a frequent flyer, Ratehub has dubbed the Scotiabank Gold American Express Card the best travel credit card.
The report highlights its strong earn rates and excellent travel insurance as the reason for its win.

Those who are looking to make money back on everyday expenses may want to get the CIBC Dividend Visa Infinite card, which one for best cash back credit card.
“With one of the highest earn rates on groceries and gas, flexible redemption options, and premium Visa Infinite benefits, this card continues to be a reliable choice for maximizing savings on daily spending,” reads the report.

CIBC Dividend Visa Infinite also won the best credit card for gas.
