If you’re looking for a temporary job to make some extra cash for the holidays, you could work at Amazon.

The company has announced plans to hire 9,000 seasonal workers across 55 sites in Canada this upcoming season to keep up with demand.

The average seasonal wage is almost $24 an hour, just a few dollars shy of the new standard base rate following September’s $1 pay bump.

According to Amazon, seasonal workers will get immediate access to benefits including mental health and wellbeing support through Amazon’s Employee Assistance Program. They will also receive the new Employee Grocery and Daily Essentials Discount, which offers 10 per cent off groceries and daily essentials.

However, seasonal roles do not include the full benefits package provided to regular, full-time employees, meaning they are not eligible for extended health, dental, and vision coverage.

You can apply for various roles, including positions across its many fulfillment centres, sortation centres, and delivery stations. While these positions are currently temporary, the company notes they could become permanent, full-time roles.

Amazon says it will post positions on a rolling basis throughout the holiday season but warns they can “fill up quickly.”

Interested candidates can brush up their resumes and apply directly on Amazon’s hiring website.
