A video posted to Reddit claims that a U.S. border officer yelled “Never come to the U.S. again!” at a Canadian driver.

The footage, which was posted last Thursday, shows an alleged U.S. border officer “dangerously speeding” toward a driver who says they’re from Ontario.

“Honked at my Ontario plate and now on my a** two miles from border,” reads a caption on the video.

The 39-second-long video shows the alleged U.S. border officer in a grey pick-up truck shouting at the driver from his window. When he notices the camera, he quickly speeds past the driver, overtaking them in the lane.

A map included at the end of the video says that the footage was taken at Interstate 190 in Buffalo, New York, on Monday, Sept. 22, at approximately 7:55 a.m. EDT. The person who took the video claims that the border agent works at the Lewiston Bridge Buffalo/Niagara border crossing.

The U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is investigating the incident.

In an email statement to Daily Hive, CBP spokesperson Mike Niezgoda says the federal agency is committed to “ensuring that all employees are held to the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, and personal conduct.”

It’s unclear if the person who posted the footage to Reddit is the driver in the video. Daily Hive has reached out for confirmation about what may have led up to the incident.

It is also not confirmed whether the person wearing the CBP uniform in the video is, in fact, a U.S. border officer. The CBP didn’t provide any more details about the incident.

Travel between the U.S. and Canada has declined in recent months amid the trade war. Several Canadians cancelled their summer trips to the U.S. in protest of the tariffs, while other Canadians who have had to travel to the U.S. have experienced being denied entry.
