The Buffalo Sabres may call the United States home, but they’ve just earned a bunch more fans north of the border. Because they have a fan base on both sides of the border, the Sabres do something unique before all their games at KeyBank Center. While it is customary for NHL teams to not sing the Canadian national anthem before games unless a Canadian team is playing, Buffalo anthem singers perform both the Star Spangled Banner and O Canada before every game.

NHL fans whose teams didn’t make the playoffs haven’t had a ton to cheer about as of late, but that will soon change. All 16 teams that failed to qualify for the postseason will be praying for good luck at the NHL draft lottery, scheduled to take place this coming Tuesday at 7 p.m. EDT/4 p.m. PDT. It will be held at the NHL Network’s studio headquarters in Secaucus, New Jersey.
