Wayne Gretzky is tired of the NHL not having an award named after Bobby Orr. The Great One recently appeared on the Game Notes podcast with Matt Murley and Colby Armstrong, where the discussion turned to the NHL Awards. As it stands, the league has a total of 22 awards that are handed out annually, but Gretzky felt strongly that at least one more should be added.

Big changes are coming to the CFL. Major changes are coming to the league’s playoff format, with an extra round being added to the postseason beginning in 2027.

NHL fans whose teams didn’t make the playoffs haven’t had a ton to cheer about as of late, but that will soon change. All 16 teams that failed to qualify for the postseason will be praying for good luck at the NHL draft lottery, scheduled to take place this coming Tuesday at 7 p.m. EDT/4 p.m. PDT. It will be held at the NHL Network’s studio headquarters in Secaucus, New Jersey.
