Toronto area LCBO employees test positive for COVID-19

Multiple LCBO employees have tested positive for COVID-19 since the start of April as reported cases continue to rise in the province.

According to the liquor board, four employees have tested positive for the virus.

  • An employee at the 1339 Lawrence Avenue West location was reported to have tested positive for the virus on April 2. They had last worked on March 28.
  • Another employee at the same location was reported to have tested positive for the virus on April 3. They had last worked on March 31.
  • An employee at the 222 Front Street East location was reported to have tested positive for the virus on April 5. They had last worked on March 26.
  • An employee at the 3020 Elmcreek Road location in Mississauga was reported to have tested positive for the virus on April 6. They had last worked on April 3.

“As the province continues to ease COVID-19 restrictions, the LCBO has updated our operating hours, including opening on Mondays,” said an LCBO spokesperson.

The liquor board also reduced its in-store shopping capacities to 25% due to provincial restrictions. Customer returns will also be paused throughout varying levels of the colour-coded system.

“We continue to restrict capacity and hours in accordance with public health guidance across the province.”
