Loblaws reports several employees testing positive for COVID-19
Toronto area grocery stores continue to report an increase in daily COVID-19 cases.
With the province seeing a growing concern over COVID-19, grocery stores such as Loblaws have also reported 10 of its grocery chains with employees who tested positive for the virus.
On March 30, a Real Canadian Superstore employee at 3050 Argentia Road in Mississauga was reported to have tested positive on a presumptive test for COVID-19. They had last worked on March 22.
The same day, two employees at a separate Real Canadian Superstore, this time at 85 Steeles Avenue West in Brampton, were reported to have tested positive on presumptive tests for the virus on March 30. They had last worked on March 21 and 24, respectively.
In Toronto, three employees at the 12 St. Clair Avenue East Loblaws location were reported to have tested positive on presumptive tests for the virus on March 30. They had last worked on March 21, 22, and 24, respectively.
On March 30, a Loblaws employee at 5970 Mclaughlin Road in Mississauga was reported to have tested positive on a presumptive test for the virus. They had last worked on March 23.
On March 31, an employee at the 10488 Yonge Street in Richmond Hill No Frills location was reported to have tested positive on a presumptive test for COVID-19. They had last worked on March 23.
On March 31, an employee at the 301 Moor Avenue Loblaws was reported to have tested positive on a presumptive test for the virus. They had last worked on March 23.
The same day, three employees at a Real Canadian Superstore at 2549 Weston Road were reported to have tested positive on a presumptive test for COVID-19. They had last worked on March 18, March 22, and March 26.
On March 31, an employee at No Frills at 680 Silver Creek Boulevard in Mississauga was reported to have tested positive on a presumptive test for COVID-19. They had last worked on March 17.
In Scarborough, an employee at the 3850 Sheppard Avenue East location was reported to have tested positive on a presumptive test for the virus which was disclosed on March 31. They had last worked on March 23.
On March 31, at another No Frills, this time at 269 Coxwell Avenue, an employee was reported to have tested positive on a presumptive test for the virus and had last worked on March 23.
A total of 15 employees were reported, according to Loblaw’s COVID-19 advisory page, in the span of two days.
On Monday, other grocers including Sobeys reported several positive cases over the past weekend.
In an effort for transparency, Loblaws regularly updates their coronavirus cases in stores by province within the last 15 days, as well as Sobey’s for 14 days.
“In addition, we have mandated that our staff and customers wear masks in Extra Foods, Fortinos, Maxi, No Frills, Real Canadian Superstores, and T&T stores across Canada,” said Loblaws.
