Tourists may be charged a fee to drive down this Instagram-famous street

Trying to liven up your Instagram on your San Fran travels may just get a little bit more expensive, with a proposed toll for tourists to take pictures on this world-famous street.

Tourists may soon have to make a reservation and pay a fee in order to drive down the famous crooked segment of San Francisco’s Lombard Street.

San Francisco Assemblyman Phil Ting announced last week that he will introduce legislation that would allow the city to charge drivers a fee to enter the landmark area.

According to Ting’s website, Lombard Street attracts more than two million visitors each year by car and foot, which he says creates congestion for tourists and locals alike.

This suggestion comes after a number of popular tourists destinations have been temporarily or permanently closed down due to the high traffic causing more harm than good to stunning destinations like this one.

So if you were planning a trip to this gorgeous San Francisco street and don’t want to pay the toll — you might want to head over as soon as possible.
