There’s nothing more Canadian than skating free on a frozen lake… especially when that lake is located in what is arguably the country’s most beautiful landscape: The Rocky Mountains.

Two Jack Lake, located just outside of Banff, Alberta, has frozen over to create the most picture perfect wintery scene that we’ve ever witnessed (rivalled only by this frozen waterfall in the same Rocky Mountain region).

With clear, blue ice beneath your skates and the stunning sights of the Rockies all around you, going for a romantic skate or a quick game of puck on this sheet is what Canadian dreams are made of.

It comes as no surprise that many have made the pilgrimage over to Banff for a lap of the natural rink, and the rest of us are in luck because they’ve taken a few stunning pictures of the sights.
