There are few things greater than sex, but did you know that weed can make it even better?
Have a few puffs, maybe turn on some good tunes, get things going with some hypnotic foreplay, and prepare for an epic roll in the sheets.
People have claimed that smoking herb heightens their awareness of touching their partners and affects their perception of time where sex feels better and seems to last forever.
But let’s get clinical for a second, it has also been linked to causing vaginal dryness and a low sperm count. Not to mention there is the dose-effect with some guys where if you spend too much time smoking up, you ain’t getting it up. However, these side effects depend heavily on the strain of cannabis, situation, and person.

Yet, with just the right amount of THC, boinking is most definitely enhanced.
So why is that? This feels like something Bill Nye needs to explain to us on his Netflix special. Unfortunately, there haven’t been a lot of studies on the subject which is weird because there would be no shortage of test subjects.
According to ancient folk medicine traditions, a variety of women and men of different backgrounds were using cannabis to enhance their carnal sexual appetites and experiences. Marijuana has long been considered an aphrodisiac and has been linked to Tantric Indian rituals for over 3000 years.
It basically comes down to the neurotransmitter dopamine. When we consume cannabis our brains release dopamine which is thought to contribute to the euphoria we feel when stoned. Now add the excitement of sex to the mix, and we get double the dopamine and double the cum..er.. fun.
That’s because THC (delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol), one of the active ingredients in pot, not only releases dopamine in the brain, it actually replicates the effects of a sexy little naturally occurring neurochemical called anandamide or “the love molecule.”
In a nutshell, a lot of chemical action happens in the brain and things feel great which is especially true for women.
In one particular study, 90% of women said being stoned makes sex feel better, with 40% testifying that it magnifies the intensity of their orgasm. Some women also claim that touching certain erogenous zones of their bodies, besides the obvious areas, like the mid-line of the abdomen, the nose, the indentation at the upper lip, the crown of the head, and the tip of the tongue also provides a ton of amazing stimulation.
Heck there is even is a strain of bud in California for women called “Sexpot,” a low-THC variety said to increase female sexual desire and pleasure.
Different strokes for different folks as obviously cannabis use can also cause paranoia and sleepiness, something that doesn’t jive well with gettin’ freaky.
Some have sworn by Sativa strains as a way to increase sexual pleasure but it ultimately comes down to personal preference.
In the book Sex Pot: The Marijuana Lover’s Guide to Gettin’ It On, author Lisa Kirkman claims there are specific strains that may work better than others in achieving a heightened sexual experience. She encourages both men and women to experiment with hybrid blends with a ratio of 70/30 (Sativa:Indica) instead of using purebred strains. When choosing a Sativa strain, Kirkman suggests Flo or Skunk #1, which will encourage perk things up, as well as Voodoo and Godbud.
Grab some weed, a bed buddy, and get ready for some great sex, followed by a pretty decent nap.
