Delta Airlines will soon offer economy passengers a free welcome cocktail and other perks

Being a traveller these days is tough. You’re lucky if you can snag a free bag of peanuts. Plus, having to pass through business class when everyone is sipping their bubbly and stretching their legs doesn’t make it any easier.

But Delta Airlines has heard our woes from all the way back in economy class, and is about to roll out a service that will make you fly in style… even if business class is a forever unattainable dream.

Starting in November 2019, Delta will be wooing customers on qualifying routes with an industry-leading Main Cabin experience. The experience will be offered on international flights scheduled for 6.5 hours or longer, plus select shorter international flights where Delta One or Delta Premium Select is offered.

So what’s in it for you, globetrotters?

A “Welcome Aboard” cocktail in the form of a Bellini to kick off your flight. You might as well be in Rome.

Hot towel service to make you feel refreshed, cozy, and ready for a nap.

Mix-and-match options for appetizers and entrées. That’s right, gone are the days of opting for one part of a meal and sucking it up for the rest of your tray-fillers.

A farewell chocolate upon descent. Because you deserve.

Delta has been testing and refining the concept of this upgraded experience for over a year, using reviews collected from nearly 14,000 hours of flight time, information from over 1,800 customer surveys, crew feedback and input from a design team made up of 24 flight attendants.
