Airline's mistake results in $16,000 business class flights sold as low as $675

Shout out to Cathay Pacific, whose mistake is their passengers’ gain!

The Hong Kong based airline accidentally sold first and business class tickets at a fraction of its regular price, and has chosen to honour the bookings.

Passengers who jumped on the mistake fare have snagged return fares from spots in Canada and the US to Vietnam for as low as $675 in business class. That’s economy pricing, with business class service.

Having been fortunate enough to fly business class once in our lives we can tell you that if we could choose one rich person perk, it would be this. Experiencing business class is a blessing and a curse because economy is even more of a nightmare once you know how good it can get.

The access to VIP lounges, lack of waiting in lines, champagne service, full 180-degree reclining bed — this is the stuff dreams are made of. Possibly the best part is that you can nap whenever you want and they will still bring you your meal once you wake up. Because isn’t the biggest travel dilemma whether to fall asleep at take-off, or force yourself to stay awake for fear of missing the meal service?

So kudos to those people who snagged the deal, and kudos to Cathay for honouring their mess-up. And good luck to the passengers who will have to adjust back to economy class after this flight.

We will now leave you with some amazing photos of people living their best business class lives with Cathay Pacific. You’re welcome!
