This BC climber is the youngest Canadian to conquer the Seven Summits

At the age of 26, BC resident Elizabeth Rose joined the select group of climbers who reached the highest mountains on every continent, known as the Seven Summits.
This impressive list of peaks includes Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, Mount Aconcagua in Argentina, Mount Vinson in Antarctica, Mount Denali in Alaska, Mount Elbrus in southern Russia, Mount Kosciuszko in Australia, and, of course, Mount Everest.

The adventures, dangers, and fears that Liz faced during her journey are all recounted in her book “Written in the Snow: My Journey to the Seven Summits,” a memoir about the life-changing accomplishment she completed in 2017.
“I just fell in love with climbing,” says Rose. “I love the suffering. I love everything about it. There’s nothing like standing on top of a mountain.”
The goal-oriented climber is already planning a new adventure for the summer — but she’s keeping us in suspense for now.
“I’m not going to let you guys know what it is just yet, but I will tell you that no Canadian woman has ever done it before. So stay tuned.”
