You can now get some of your favourite local brews and other alcoholic beverages in three Alberta cities, with alcohol delivery being introduced in the province on SkiptheDishes.

Alcohol delivery was first introduced on the app in BC and Manitoba in 2017, but as of today, Albertans in Fort McMurray, Calgary, and Edmonton can also get drinks delivered to their door just by lifting a finger.

In order to ensure safe and legal delivery of alcohol on the app, SkiptheDishes delivery drivers are required to comply with all laws and regulations related to serving alcohol, including confirming the purchasing customer is of legal age using identification.

“We’re always working to make sure everyone on the Skip network has a safe, enjoyable experience,” a SkiptheDishes spokesperson said in a statement to Daily Hive.

In Alberta, couriers are also required to have a special certificate and receive training to deliver alcohol.

“All independently-contracted couriers that deliver alcohol in Alberta hold a ProServe certificate and have undergone an alcohol delivery onboarding process,” said the spokesperson.

Cheers to that!
