Only 3 free outdoor movies in Downtown Vancouver's plaza left this summer

Aug 15 2018, 5:51 am

Earlier this summer, we announced the first free outdoor movie series in Downtown Vancouver would be held in the heart of the city centre.

Each Wednesday evening at the new šxʷƛ̓ənəq Xwtl’e7énḵ Square (formerly Vancouver Art Gallery’s North Plaza), flicks like GhostbustersOcean’s Eleven, and Moulin Rouge came to the giant inflatable screen.

While we have movies in Stanley Park and on the waterfront at Canada Place, this new series brought a unique vibe with it, creating the perfect urban environment to take in a flick surrounded by the concrete jungle of the city.

As days are getting shorter and nights getting longer, summer is running out – and so are the outdoor movies!

Catch one of these remaining movies over the next few weeks, or risk major FOMO.

August 15 – Mrs. Doubtfire

Celebrate the life of Robin Williams with the DVBIA, who are partnering with the Canadian Mental Health Association and their BounceBack program for this special film.

August 22 – La La Land

August 29 – Avengers: Infinity War

Heroes come in all forms, and on August 29 the DVBIA will celebrate local heroes with representatives from local police, fire, and first responders joining for the night.

Daily Hive is the proud exclusive media partner of DVBIA’s Summer Movie Nights on the Square
