If you thought things were going to cool down this week, think again.
The hot weather is going to continue and Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement about the high temperatures.
The weather warning is in effect for:
- Châteauguay – La Prairie area
- Laval area
- Longueuil – Varennes area
- Montréal Island area
According to Environment Canada, the unusually hot and humid conditions will continue over Southwestern and Central Quebec through Wednesday with highs near 30°C and humidex values between 35 and 39 °C.
“Temperatures will therefore soar well above seasonal values of 15 to 18 degrees during the day and 5 to 9 degrees during the night for these areas. Is it once again expected that records will be established in some localities,” said the weather agency in a statement.
Temperatures are expected to return to seasonal values on Thursday.
