If you’re anything like us, the hunger for unique and delicious food and beverage-centred events is as strong as ever. It’s a good thing Vancouver always delivers them in excess.

Here are Vancouver food events, in or around the city, to check out this week.

Richmond Night Market

Running from May 11 to October 8, this wildly popular event is gearing up for a 2018 season filled with epic eats and live entertainment. There will be over 100 food vendors and 200 retail stalls this year.

When: Fridays and Saturdays from May 11 to October 8 from 7 pm to midnight; Sundays and holiday Mondays 7 to 11 pm

North Vancouver’s Shipyards Night Market

Attendees can expect to chow down on grub from 40+ food trucks in “hot food alley” and enjoy live entertainment all summer long. The Friday Night Market will also feature a 19+ beer garden, serving local craft beer and cider as well as Betty’s Vodka Iced Tea.

The Great British Tea Party

The newest theme is a classic but cheeky one, The Great British Tea Party is available now through September 3, with seatings at 11 am, 1 pm, and 3 pm daily. Selections at this tea include Fairmont’s LOT 35 Tea, the Eton Mess with berries, meringue, and whipped double cream, and raisin and butter scones served with Devonshire cream and strawberry jam to name a few.

99 ¢ Grand Slams at Denny’s

The Davie Street location of Denny’s is celebrating their grand re-opening after undergoing renovations and will be offering their dollar breakfast deal from 7 am to 2 pm on Tuesday, June 12.

On Tuesday, June 12, Yaletown will be transformed into a foodie’s paradise. This event serves up grub made by local restaurant chefs and food truck collabs, and it’s sure to be great. A ticket to this shindig costs $69 and it gets you access to all the food along with wine, beer, and cocktail tasters. Patrons can head to the intersection of Hamilton an Nelson and get in on the epic eats at this event brought to us by the Chefs’ Table Society of British Columbia.

Pies of Summer

Bake the best pies with the most flavourful fruits of the summer! Recipes demonstrated: Tomato Tarte Tatin, Peach and Strawberry Lattice Pie, and make your own Mini Blueberry Pie. One glass of wine included, go home with printed recipes and one mini pie.

L’Abattoir Guest Chef Dinner: ‘From Australia to Canada’s Rocky Mountains and West Coast’

L’Abattoir chef and owner Lee Cooper will host Australian chef Mark Best (San Pellegrino World’s 50 Best Restaurants), alongside Calgary-based chef Darren MacLean of Shokunin for a spectacular six-course dinner with wine pairings on Wednesday, June 13 at 6:30 pm. The guest chef dinner will be held in L’Abattoir’s private room, tucked away in a refurbished 19th-century brick-and-beam heritage building located behind the main dining room.

Liquid Labs at H Tasting Lounge

Learn the art of crafting your own concoctions with H Tasting Lounge’s bartender, Dylan Williams. Use locally-foraged ingredients as you mix your way to mastery, with four curated cocktail recipes. Your handcrafted creations will be paired with executive chef Alex Mok’s tasting plates.

Nomad Dinner Club: Chef Katsuji Tanabe

Guests will receive complimentary wine and beer pairings along with a welcome glass of bubbles upon arrival at this multi-course dinner prepared by Chef Katsuji Tanabe owner of MexiKosher Restaurant, the first authentic Kosher Mexican restaurant in Los Angeles

Devour! Osoyoos (Osoyoos Food Film Festival)

This year, Devour! Osoyoos is back and better than ever, offering a wide variety of fun-filled events perfectly suited to food and film fanatics. June 15 will kick off the festivities with a welcome BBQ reception, and then attendees can get into a whole weekend of food-centric events.

Seafood Boil at Boulevard Kitchen & Oyster Bar

Guests are invited to pull up a chair and tuck into a true, East Coast-inspired communal seafood spread piled high on butcher’s paper and served with all the fixings, including Boulevard’s signature bacon cornbread and sweet Beignets for dessert.
