Vancouver food events you can't miss this June

We’re finally at that time Vancouver, the time when we can eat, drink, and be merry in and around the great outdoors without freezing to death or needing five heat lamps for one person. Spring has sprung and summer is comin’ in hot.

It’s time to celebrate June and all the amazing food events and shindigs going down this month. Dinners, demos, festivals, and more – June might just be the most delicious month of 2018 yet.

Here are some awesome food events to check out in or around Vancouver in June.

Reoccurring

Richmond Night Market

Running from May 11 to October 8, this wildly popular event is gearing up for a 2018 season filled with epic eats and live entertainment. There will be over 100 food vendors and 200 retail stalls this year.

North Vancouver’s Shipyards Night Market

Attendees can expect to chow down on grub from 40+ food trucks in “hot food alley” and enjoy live entertainment all summer long. The Friday Night Market will also feature a 19+ beer garden, serving local craft beer and cider as well as Betty’s Vodka Iced Tea.

The Great British Tea Party

The newest theme is a classic but cheeky one, The Great British Tea Party is available now through September 3, with seatings at 11 am, 1 pm, and 3 pm daily. Selections at this tea include Fairmont’s LOT 35 Tea, the Eton Mess with berries, meringue, and whipped double cream, and raisin and butter scones served with Devonshire cream and strawberry jam to name a few.

Fraser Valley Food Truck Festival

This free event is uber popular for foodies in the Metro Vancouver/Fraser Valley area. Each fest will feature around a dozen trucks with food and beverage for purchase, live entertainment, and artisan market vendors. Most events will run from 11 am to 5 pm.

Latin style BBQ Sundays at Cacao

Every Sunday this summer Cacao Vancouver will be offering a drool-worthy Latin-style BBQ. This event will run from June 10 to August 26 and offers patrons traditional “Carne Asada” from different regions in Central and South America. Come to join the Cacao family for a classic neighbourhood Sunday gathering. Reservations are required.

Vancouver Craft Beer Week is back for 2018, and with the celebration of all things beer (and music, food, and art) comes some seriously awesome shindigs. Beer lovers can get in on the celebration’s citywide events from May 25 to June 3.

Vancouver Craft Beer Week Festival 2018

Beer and cider lovers are invited to come to the PNE Fairgrounds on June 2 and 3 for the 9th annual year of good times, filled with music, food, art, and of course, tons of craft beer. For 2018 festival-goers can expect 100+ craft breweries and cideries (pouring 300+ beverages), live music, buskers, and more food trucks and washrooms. This festival caps off the 10-day citywide celebration which runs from May 25 to June 3.

PiDGiN x Heritage Asian Eatery Collab Dinner

Heritage Asian Eatery executive chef and co-owner Felix Zhou will bring his signature modern Eastern cuisine to the kitchen at Gastown’s PiDGiN for an exclusive guest chef dinner on Tuesday, June 5. Zhou will work alongside PiDGiN executive chef Wesley Young to prepare a five-course family style dinner featuring an array of unique, Asian-inspired dishes such as albacore tuna with asparagus, scallion sauce and Japanese charcoal; sturgeon with curried tonkatsu broth; and roasted duck breast with Peking sauce, stuffed morels, alliums and scallion pancake.

Italian Day 2018

Vancouver’s annual Italian Day is set to pack Commercial Drive with pasta, pizza, and partygoers again on Sunday, June 10, 2018. Join thousands of Vancouverites in a celebration of all things Italian as Commercial Drive will transform into a vibrant 14-block car-free zone, featuring over 150 merchants, food vendors, and entertainment.

Introduction to Sourdough

No one can teach you how to make sourdough, beginning to end, in 2 hours. Chef Meets Truck 2018

On Tuesday, June 12, Yaletown will be transformed into a foodie’s paradise. This event serves up grub made by local restaurant chefs and food truck collabs, and it’s sure to be great. A ticket to this shindig costs $69 and it gets you access to all the food along with wine, beer, and cocktail tasters. Patrons can head to the intersection of Hamilton an Nelson and get in on the epic eats at this event brought to us by the Chefs’ Table Society of British Columbia.
