Hedley

  • What: Hedley are on tour in support of their seventh studio album, Cageless. The acclaimed Vancouver based four-piece has accumulated more than a million album sales, has 18 number one videos on Much Music, and has been honoured with 11 MMVAs, four SOCAN and two JUNO awards.

Art Focus Artists’ Association 25th Anniversary Exhibit

  • What: Art Focus is commemorating its Silver Anniversary by holding a silver-themed exhibit. Oils, watercolour, acrylics, mixed-media and photography are featured in this show held at the Michael Wright Gallery and in The Outlet.

Katy Perry

  • What: Katy Perry is no stranger to the pop scene. Her album Teenage Dream gained seven Grammy nominations, and won best International Album of the Year at the 2011 Juno Awards. Now she returns with her upcoming fifth album, Witness.

Hard-Boiled Pop-Up

  • What: You’ll find two chefs in the kitchen at this event: Deniz Tarakioglu from Cafe Medina and Brad Miller from Red Wagon Café and Bistro Wagon Rouge. This is a sit-down dinner that will be served family-style, and you should definitely bring some cash for breakfast-inspired cocktails.

Understanding & coping with anxiety: A free public talk

  • What: Explore different types of anxiety with a purpose of better understanding ways that anxiety can affect us. The talk will also discuss coping mechanisms for anxiety, and how engaging in art, dance, and psychotherapy practices can be helpful in addressing anxiety.

Whose Streets (Black History Month at VIFF Vancity Theatre)

  • What: When unarmed teenager Michael Brown was shot dead by police in Ferguson, Missouiri, August 2014, the predominantly African American residents of the town took to the streets in protests that were seen around the world. Filmmakers Sabaah Folayan and Damon Davis were right there with them, providing us with an impassioned account of the fury and frustration, the energy and inspiration of Black Lives Matter movement.

Duo Artists Exhibit
