This is pie heaven: Pie Hole retail spot opening on Fraser (PHOTOS)
Savoury or sweet – whatever way you slice it, Vancouver loves its pie.
And while there are a plethora of places to pick up this iconic dessert in the city, there is now a new spot where you can sit back, relax, and enjoy these homemade goods in a boutique-style pie shop atmosphere.
The Pie Hole is set to open on Friday, April 14 at 3497 Fraser Street (the corner of 19th and Fraser). While this eatery is new to the Fraser Street corridor, it’s definitely not new to the pie game–in fact, owner Jenell Parsons has been cooking up these babies for years.

Finally, with the help of her co-founder and sister, Carla Parsons, Jenell is ready to open the doors to their brick and mortar location, a cafe that’s about to be at the top every foodie and Instagrammer’s “must-try” list.
While Vancouverites have been able to get The Pie Hole’s goodies online and in various shops and cafes around the city for years (via their kitchen at 401 Industrial Avenue), they have never been able to serve their freshly-baked creations straight from oven-to-table, until now.
With the brand’s signature colour of marine blue all over the chairs, tables, and even the custom to-go coffee cups and lids, this space is has been planned and executed to be perfect in every detail.
With seating for just over 20 people and a revolving pie case near the window, it will be hard to miss this space while strolling by, especially if you glance in the window and spot the custom neon sign that directs pie-lovers to do what they do best – to stuff their literal pie holes.
We’re pretty sure people will happily oblige this request, especially considering the fresh and delicious varieties of treats up for order here.
Patrons can select from a long list of flavours in a variety of sizes including pies by the slice, 3-inch pies ($3.50 to $4), 5-inch pies from ($11 to $13), and full-size 9-inch pies ($28 to $38).
There are a ton of fruit pies, savoury pies, and specialty pies (cream and nut pies) on the spread in all your favourite Pie Hole signature flavours like Maple French Toast & Bacon Pie, S’more Pie, and of course, the infamous Fat Elvis Pie, which is a combo of golden buttery crust with a layer of dark chocolate ganache topped with banana cream, peanut butter mousse, chocolate ganache drizzle, caramel, and roasted peanuts.
For savoury pies, The Pie Hole offers a range of creative flavours like a Spinach & Feta Pie, a Steak & Stout Pie, but the title of crowdpleaser should probably go to the Bacon Cheeseburger Pie.
This pie is made in a smaller version in order to accommodate those who want to grab and go, or only need one serving of this little beauty, which consists of a ground beef filling in a cheddar béchamel mixed with dill pickles, along with grated cheddar, finely diced onions, bacon, and mustard. The Bacon Cheeseburger hand pies are even finished with a sesame topped pie crust.
The Pie Hole will also be serving up butter tarts, cookies, whoopie pies, and (p)ice cream sammies (pie and ice cream), there is no end to the pie-inspired creations that will be popping up seasonally here, either.
For an additional charge customers can opt for a helping of whipped cream for their pie or a scoop (or two) of Betterwith Ice Cream – which is pretty much the creamiest ice cream you can get AKA hella dreamy when combined with pie. Currently The Pie Hole carries three flavours of this ice cold treat including caramel, cream, and vanilla.
This spot has a full-service coffee bar too, because pretty much every serving of pie and ice cream needs a coffee to make it a complete meal. They will be offering beverage such as espresso, Americanos, cappuccinos, lattes, and teas.
Between to crazy selection of goodies and the comfortable old school diner feel, we can see a slice of heaven from The Pie Hole becoming a staple in many pastry-lovers’ diets this summer.
The Pie Hole will be open daily from 7 am to 10 pm.
